Opto Electronics announced its third-quarter results, reporting a cumulative operating loss of ¥130 million, although profit and loss improved by ¥30 million year on year.
Quarterly performance improved from a ¥160 million loss in the first quarter and a ¥10 million loss in the March–May quarter to a ¥40 million profit in the June–August quarter.
Orders from several major customers led to a significant increase in domestic sales. This also reportedly improved the gross margin.
The full-year loss forecast remains unchanged at ¥530 million, although some market participants reportedly expect results to exceed the forecast.
