Persol Holdings has modernized the accounting platform across 30 group companies, centered on SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition, eliminating manual data integration and promoting process standardization. Under its Fit to Standard policy, the group is aligning operations with standard functionality and aims to integrate financial and management accounting across the group.
As Persol Group expanded its business, the accounting systems scattered across its group companies came to rely on manual integration. Leaving this situation unresolved would have increased the workload of accounting staff and hindered decision-making and governance across the group, prompting the group to decide to renew its common platform.
The group chose a large-scale modernization centered on SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition. By centralizing the accounting data of 30 companies, it is advancing the visualization of financial data and process standardization, while thoroughly applying Fit to Standard, under which operations are aligned with standard functionality.
The implementation combines BlackLine, which supports financial close activities, with SAP Integration Suite, which handles system integration. NTT DATA GSL provided implementation support. Initial implementation was completed at 2 companies in fiscal 2024.
As a result, the group established an environment capable of importing journal-entry data from all 30 companies in a single batch, improving the search performance of ledger data. Common group-wide processes have increased transparency and improved the effectiveness of internal controls. Momentum for improvement has spread across the organization, advancing operational reform.
Going forward, the group aims to advance its finance operations by strengthening the automation of financial close and accounts receivable clearing, as well as the use of AI, including anomaly detection, journal-entry recommendations, and variance analysis, using the accounting system.
