日本エム・ディ・エム indicated that it would revise its ordinary profit forecast for the current fiscal year downward to a loss and suspend the year-end dividend. The company turned to a loss in the cumulative second quarter, and the full-year forecast was significantly reduced from a profit to a loss.
日本エム・ディ・エム announced that consolidated ordinary profit for the cumulative second quarter of the fiscal year ending March 2027 (April-September) had turned to a loss of ¥1.16 billion. Although it had been profitable in the year-earlier period, the result was a larger loss than the previous forecast.
The company also downwardly revised its full-year forecast from a profit of approximately ¥60 million to a loss of ¥1.75 billion. As a result, second-half ordinary profit is estimated to be a loss of approximately ¥580 million.
In response to deteriorating results, the company indicated that it would forgo the previously planned year-end lump-sum dividend of ¥17, resulting in no dividend for the first time in 20 periods. In the latest three months, ordinary profit in the July-September quarter turned to a loss of ¥620 million, and the sales operating profit margin deteriorated significantly.
A comparison of first-half results with the previous forecast showed revenue falling significantly below the level of approximately ¥1 trillion, while revised net profit turned into a substantial loss. Depending on future disclosures, attention may focus on further trends in financial indicators.
