BIC RECORDS AKIBA by Face Records, a specialist used-record store, will open at Bic Camera AKIBA on 19 September. Located inside the audio section on the 3rd floor, it will carry approximately 5,000–6,000 used records.
Bic Camera has announced that it will establish “BIC RECORDS AKIBA by Face Records,” a specialist used-record store, at its AKIBA store in Akihabara, with the opening scheduled for 19 September. The store will be located in the audio section on the 3rd floor of Bic Camera AKIBA and will carry approximately 5,000–6,000 records.
BIC RECORDS will be operated in collaboration with Face Records and will offer a broad selection, from products for beginners to popular genres and classic albums. Genres will include anime, rock, J-pop and club music, with the store aiming to create a sales floor that is easy for younger people who feel uncomfortable entering a street-front specialist store to visit.
The store will offer recommendations pairing records with record players and provide listening facilities. It will also expand its range of new records and sell both used and new products. LPs will start at ¥980 and EPs at ¥480.
The BIC RECORDS concept is “The deeper you dig, the more interesting music becomes.” In keeping with the term “dig,” the store will also feature an original mole-themed character named “Digby.” Expansion to other stores is planned, starting with AKIBA.
