DBJ invests in Kasumigase Capital's first dry automated warehouse development project. The project aims to highly automate operations from receiving through dispatch.
Against a backdrop of amendments to logistics legislation and labor shortages, Kasumigaseki Capital will receive investment from DBJ for its first project to advance dry automated warehouse development. The initiative comes as the amended Logistics Efficiency Act and the 2026 logistics problem make the appointment of a logistics operations manager and the preparation of medium- to long-term plans mandatory.
The project will be implemented through Dry Tech Atsugi Specific Purpose Company. It is characterized by the automation of a series of in-warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, transportation, picking and dispatch, using AI and robots. The project aims to use physical AI to recognize and assess cargo configurations and conditions inside the warehouse in real time, and to optimize equipment control.
Kasumigaseki Capital aims to develop next-generation facilities with a view to full unmanned operation and the transition to an equipment-based business in the future. Consolidated results for the fiscal year ended August 2026 showed revenue of ¥163.7 billion and operating profit of ¥27.6 billion, indicating growth. The company plans to use its automation expertise to reduce logistics costs and improve operational efficiency.
