The Chubu Economic Federation announced on the 5th that the chairmanship had changed from Katsuno Satoshi (勝野哲) to Vice Chairman Tsuge Yasuhide (柘植康英), effective that day. Based on a decision by the board of directors, Tsuge will serve the remaining term through the ordinary general meeting in June 2027. Chairman Tsuge is from Nagoya and explained his views on the Chubu area and priority policies.
Chairman Tsuge cited growth investment, support for creating added value using AI and wide-area collaboration among 7 themes, and stressed regional industrial promotion centered on the Nagoya metropolitan area. He indicated that he aims to achieve further growth by building on the strengths of the Chubu area in manufacturing and infrastructure.
Katsuno was reportedly planning to resign following the data falsification issue at Hamaoka Nuclear Power Station, and Vice Chairman Hayashi Kingo (林欣吾) also resigned that day.
