The Chubu Economic Federation announced on 5 October 2026 that Tsuge Yasuhide (柘植康英), an adviser to JR Central, would become its new chair. As a result, it will be the first time in 69 years that neither the chair nor the vice chair of the federation is from Chubu Electric Power.
The Chubu Economic Federation announced on 5 October 2026 that its chair Katsuno Satoshi (勝野哲) would leave the position and that the chair would change from Katsuno Satoshi (勝野哲) to Tsuge Yasuhide (柘植康英). Tsuge has served as president and chair of JR Central and had been a vice chair of the federation since 2014.
Tsuge Yasuhide (柘植康英) will become the federation's first chair from JR Central. He reportedly expressed an intention in his address to encourage new challenges from the Chubu region. The federation also announced that Hayashi Kingo (林欣吾), former president of Chubu Electric Power, would retire as vice chair.
