TOTO has announced plans to strengthen both research and development and production to meet robust demand for components used in semiconductor equipment. In July, the company announced that it would invest approximately ¥17 billion to establish a research and development building at the Chigasaki Plant in Chigasaki, Kanagawa Prefecture. The new building is expected to have a floor area of approximately 2,800 m², with a focus on technological development through the enhancement of specialized capabilities.
In addition to Chigasaki, the company has disclosed plans to invest approximately ¥30 billion by FY2028 across 3 sites: the Nakatsu Plant in Nakatsu, Oita Prefecture, and the Buzen Plant in Buzen, Fukuoka Prefecture. The investment is intended to complement the component manufacturing structure and strengthen the supply system.
