Driven by strong HBM demand, 日本マイクロニクス’s cumulative operating profit for the second quarter of the fiscal year ending December 2026 was more than double the year-earlier level, while its dividend also nearly doubled. Probe cards account for approximately 98% of sales, and capacity expansion from a new building at the Aomori plant also contributed.
日本マイクロニクス holds the world’s largest market share in probe cards for memory applications. In 2025, net sales were ¥70.173 billion and operating profit was ¥16.542 billion, while probe card sales were ¥68.525 billion, accounting for 97.7% of total company sales. Its sales mix is currently heavily concentrated against a backdrop of expanding HBM demand.
The company expects to invest ¥60.8 billion in capital expenditures and ¥25.4 billion in research and development between 2023 and 2026. Capacity expansion from a new building constructed at its Aomori plant has contributed to growth in probe card sales for HBM-focused DRAM testing. The company’s performance is attributed in part to having secured production capacity through advance investment in response to rising demand from the AI boom.
For the fiscal year ending December 2026, the company forecasts consolidated net sales of ¥103.8 billion, operating profit of ¥31.4 billion and an operating margin of approximately 30%. It expects to continue benefiting from exceptional HBM demand, with the focus on operating production capacity at a high utilization rate.
