Expanding AI demand is pushing ADTEC Plasma Technology’s backlog to ¥11.4 billion. Based on data disclosed in financial materials and responses to investor-relations inquiries, sales are expected to grow mainly on semiconductor-related business, while future profit growth and risk factors are also presented.
As expanding investment in AI infrastructure spills over to companies involved in semiconductor manufacturing equipment, ADTEC Plasma Technology is positioned not as a manufacturer of semiconductors themselves, but as a B2B supplier of equipment used deep within the manufacturing process. Assessing the demand cycle requires determining when the end users’ AI boom will translate into on-site investment.
The latest financial and operating data show that the backlog for the fiscal year ending August 2026 reached a record ¥11.4 billion, a substantial increase year on year. Sales are expected to be driven mainly by semiconductor-related business. There are also projects for research institutions, but the overall growth driver is the wave of semiconductor investment.
The company has indicated a plan for operating profit in the fiscal year ending August 2027 to change from ¥2.48 billion to ¥5.3 billion and the operating margin from 17.9% to 24.7%. At the same time, given cost factors including higher work-in-process inventory and labor costs, strengthening investment and production capacity will be key to achieving these targets.
