BOJ Deputy Governor Uchida said that supply-and-demand effects from AI would emerge first, expressing the view that financial conditions would provisionally work in an easing direction.
BOJ Deputy Governor Uchida Shinichi (内田 真一) said that, while presenting a provisional view on AI, the effects on the supply-and-demand side would emerge first. He suggested concern that fluctuations in AI-related demand could affect economic management while the practical effects are assessed.
Based on this view, he expressed the provisional opinion that financial conditions would continue to work “in a more accommodative direction.” There was a view that the Bank of Japan’s policy decisions could be affected depending on future data releases and corporate developments.
