千趣会 cut its consolidated full-year earnings forecast for the fiscal year ending December 2026 to ¥41 billion in net sales, citing the continued impact of factors including the sluggish digital shift. It said delays in its business-structure reforms also affected results, together with the interim-period performance.
千趣会 announced on 7 August that it had cut its consolidated full-year net sales forecast for the fiscal year ending December 2026 from ¥45 billion to ¥41 billion. The operating profit forecast was revised from a ¥200 million profit to a ¥1.2 billion operating loss, while the ordinary profit forecast was revised from a ¥200 million profit to a ¥1.2 billion ordinary loss. Net income for the period was revised from a profit forecast to break-even.
As reasons for the revision, the company cited delays in orders, primarily due to slower-than-expected progress and realization of benefits from initiatives aimed at the digital shift, in addition to a decline in customer numbers during the interim period, while it advanced business-structure reforms and a realignment of customer targets under its turnaround plan. Gross profit also declined as clearance sales of inventory increased.
For the interim period from January to June 2026, consolidated net sales were ¥19.815 billion, with an operating loss of ¥1.09 billion, an ordinary loss of ¥1.088 billion and interim net income of ¥117 million, representing a return to profitability. The return to profit was primarily attributable to a gain of approximately ¥1.25 billion on the sale of the land and buildings of the former Chiba call center.
Additional reductions in executive remuneration were also approved. For the 8-month period from August 2026 through March 2027, the monthly remuneration of the representative director and president will be reduced by 50%, an increase of 20 percentage points from the current reduction rate.
