Konica Minolta Healthcare is renewing its repair information management system for after-sales service operations. The adoption of SmartDB will integrate data connections, with future use of AI in view.
Konica Minolta Healthcare is renewing its repair information management system to improve the efficiency of its after-sales service operations and will adopt SmartDB as a platform for centralised data management across the group. Development has begun with the start of live operations targeted for 2027. At the operational level, multiple departments coordinate their response from the point at which a repair request is received, while the difficulty of modifying the system after years of operation and the reliance on individual expertise have been identified as challenges.
The reasons for adopting SmartDB include its workflow functionality for handling complex business processes, its ability to centrally manage large volumes of data, and the construction of a data platform designed for future AI use. API integration with existing systems is also a priority. Konica Minolta aims to consolidate its business processes and data through the initiative and optimise operations as a whole.
Looking ahead, the company envisages using AI to analyse data accumulated on SmartDB for identifying failure trends, predicting failures and improving services. It plans to establish an environment in which common information can be accessed across group companies, ultimately enabling information to be viewed across overseas sales companies and distributors as well.
In the comments section, Yoshiba Mitsuhiro (吉葉 充弘) indicated that the aim of the implementation was not merely to replace a system, but to improve after-sales service operations as a whole, and expressed an intention to expand cross-departmental use and make the operations AI-ready. Dream Arts will continue to provide total solutions centred on co-creation.
