大冷 sharply revised its first-half ordinary profit forecast from ¥340 million to ¥120 million, now projecting a roughly 55.6% year-on-year decline.
大冷 announced during the afternoon session on 23 October that it had revised its ordinary profit forecast for the cumulative second quarter of the fiscal year ending March 2027 (April–September) downward from the previous forecast of ¥340 million to ¥120 million. This indicates that ordinary profit is expected to decline year on year. Revenue, however, is expected to increase.
The revised first-half figures show revenue up 0.7%, operating profit down 59.0%, ordinary profit down 64.1% and net profit down 64.9%. The full-year ordinary profit forecast remains unchanged at ¥780 million, with no change to the full-year outlook.
大冷 said the revision reflects the possibility of higher sales in its boneless fish business, driven by expanded sales of lower-priced products in line with consumer preferences. However, delays in revising selling prices and increased sales of low-gross-margin products are expected to result in operating profit, ordinary profit and net profit all falling below the previous forecast.
In its earnings briefing for the current fiscal year, the company said it was still reviewing its full-year earnings forecast for the fiscal year ending March 2027 and would disclose any necessary revisions promptly.
