Kanadevia has begun operations at a new plant within its Maizuru Plant to increase production of electronic boards. The company renovated an existing laboratory building and developed a unit plant, with total investment of approximately ¥850 million. The new capital investment expands annual electronic board production capacity from 29,000 boards to 49,000 boards.
In addition to producing electronic boards, the new plant relocated and consolidated the electronic equipment center within the plant into the area housing the control equipment center. The unit plant will assemble and integrate into equipment battery management units using lithium iron phosphate lithium-ion batteries, as well as CNT-based HiTaCa film heaters.
HiTaCa film heaters have previously been adopted to prevent snow and ice from accumulating on the bogies of the Tokaido and Sanyo Shinkansen trains. The project is intended to meet growing demand for energy storage products for renewable energy applications and semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
