Tesla Japan will launch the new Model 3 and Model Y nationwide from 23 October 2026. It also announced the availability of a power supply adapter (V2L), a new fast-charging adapter (CHAdeMO), and a Charging Support Program.
Tesla will launch the new Model 3 and Model Y nationwide from 23 October 2026 through Tesla Stores and its official website. A power supply adapter (V2L) and a new fast-charging adapter (CHAdeMO) will be launched in stages, strengthening access to power during disasters and improving charging convenience in urban areas.
The power supply adapter can supply electricity stored in the vehicle to household appliances simply by connecting it to the vehicle's charging port. It can be used for lighting and electric kettles during power outages, as well as for outdoor activities such as camping. The Model Y L can store approximately 8 days' worth of electricity, and more than 4,000 smartphone charges are anticipated.
In addition to nationwide Superchargers, the CHAdeMO adapter will enable charging at approximately 14,000 fast-charging stations in urban areas. It is expected to help alleviate the shortage of charging locations at travel destinations and in regional areas.
The Charging Support Program will provide a first-come, first-served allocation of up to ¥264,000 for newly purchased Model 3 and Model Y vehicles. The allocation covers the first 1,500 Model 3 vehicles and the first 3,500 Model Y vehicles. The Model Y L is not eligible.
