Osaka-based エイチ・ツー・オーリテイリング announced that 3 sites operated by its subsidiary 阪急阪神百貨店 had been subject to unauthorized access. The company said it is investigating the full extent of the incident and determining the scope of the impact.
The information that may have been compromised consists of H2O ID member data from the Hankyu Department Store and Hanshin Department Store reservation sites. Approximately 1.26 million records may include H2O ID, names, gender, dates of birth, email addresses, addresses, mobile phone numbers, and other information.
HANKYU HANSHIN E-STORES and Remo Order remain under investigation. The company explained that credit card information on these sites is not retained and that, in some cases, only the last four digits of card numbers are stored. The risk of fraudulent use is considered low in both cases.
In response to concerns that the damage could spread, the company warned that fraudulent emails, SMS messages, and phone calls could be sent to the email addresses and phone numbers registered with H2O ID, and issued a profound apology.
