関通ホールディングス has entered into a strategic business partnership with STORIN JP, a smart logistics company focused on Asia, to promote logistics automation solutions in the Japanese market. To rapidly gain market share in Japan, the two companies will combine the logistics expertise that 関通HD has developed with the automation technologies that STORIN has demonstrated in the Chinese market.
The core of the partnership is a strategy to use 関通HD’s own logistics centers as “mobile showrooms.” By making STORIN’s automation solutions available to customers in live operation, the companies aim to develop new customers and win large-scale projects. They will also roll out 5 business-oriented solution packages combining automation for item picking, high-density storage and unmanned transport.
STORIN says it is targeting ¥10 billion in sales in the Japanese market through the partnership. Looking ahead to labor shortages and the arrival of the physical AI era, 関通HD says it will accelerate the establishment of next-generation automation by integrating its software development capabilities, including WMS, with its hardware procurement capabilities.
The companies are expected to accelerate the rollout of demonstration data and implementation case studies through the mobile showroom for logistics operations facing labor shortages and rising costs, leading to wider adoption of automation in the Japanese market.
