Furuno Electric revised its forecast for consolidated ordinary profit for the second quarter of the fiscal year ending February 2027 up from the previous forecast of ¥10.0 billion to ¥13.7 billion. First-half profit is therefore expected to increase by 34.7%, reaching a record high.
Furuno Electric revised its forecast for consolidated ordinary profit for the six months ended August 2026, the cumulative second quarter of the fiscal year ending February 2027, up from the previous forecast of ¥10.0 billion to ¥13.7 billion. Ordinary profit was ¥10.1 billion in the same period of the previous year. First-half profit is therefore expected to increase by 34.7%, raising the likelihood that it will reach a record high for a first half.
The company cited sales to the merchant shipping market in its marine business exceeding expectations, while foreign exchange trends were broadly in line with assumptions. Profit also exceeded expectations due to an improved gross profit margin and more appropriate pricing. The company explained that the trend toward bringing forward shipbuilding schedules also supported sales.
As a result, the revised consolidated earnings forecast for the second quarter of the fiscal year ending February 2027 is expected to exceed the previous forecast for each of sales, operating profit, ordinary profit and interim net profit attributable to owners of the parent. However, the full-year earnings and dividend forecasts are still under review and are scheduled to be announced together with the earnings summary scheduled for release on 9 October 2026.
The current revision concerns the earnings outlook for the interim period, and the full-year figures are expected to be finalised in a future announcement.
