SOMPO Risk Management Inc. (Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo) and Resilire (Minato-ku, Tokyo) announced a business alliance to support supply chain risk management for Japanese companies. The companies have been collaborating by integrating SOMPO Risk Management’s risk-scoring functionality into Resilire’s cloud platform, and will continue to use their respective expertise to provide integrated support ranging from supply chain visualization to risk mitigation.
Under the alliance framework, the companies will address multiple risks across the supply chain, including natural disasters, cyberattacks, geopolitical risks and ESG-related issues, covering not only direct business partners but also their Tier 2, Tier 3 and lower-tier suppliers, up to “Tier N.”
Sompo Japan Insurance also plans to use the framework to advance the provision of risk finance. Going forward, the companies will consider enhancing risk assessment and mitigation measures using supply chain-related data, as well as jointly developing new solutions tailored to corporate needs.
The initiative is expected to proceed with a focus on strengthening cloud-based functionality and utilizing data, based on the continuation and expansion of the collaboration from January 2025 onward.
