The SDS management platform “ケミカンSDS管理,” which centrally manages approximately 100 SDSs, has been adopted at Menicon’s Kakamigahara Plant, enabling the automatic detection of regulatory amendments.
ケミカン, provider of the “ケミカンSDS管理” SDS management platform, announced on 14 October 2026 that Menicon had adopted the product. The implementation site is Menicon’s Kakamigahara Plant, where approximately 100 SDSs will be centrally managed across departments. The SDSs covered include those for raw materials, auxiliary materials and solvents. Converting them into a shared database is expected to streamline responses to missed updates and regulatory amendments. The issues associated with conventional paper-based or decentralized management are expected to improve, along with searchability.
ケミカンSDS管理 converts lists of substances covered by the latest regulations in more than 50 domestic and international jurisdictions into a database, automatically detecting and notifying users of the relevant SDSs. This is expected to prevent SDSs with outdated revision dates from being mixed in with current versions, automate regulatory checks and strengthen the compliance framework.
Before implementation, SDSs were managed in paper form by individual departments, resulting in failures to obtain revised versions. The company identified as future challenges the establishment of a system that enables substances to be viewed in a consolidated list even when the person in charge changes, and the creation of an autonomous management framework with a view to company-wide deployment.
