WORKMAN has released a new shoe in its XShelter series, the XShelter Insulated β Rain-Guard Moc, with a cover that extends over the instep to keep rain and snow out. The price is ¥2,900 including tax.
The XShelter series has added the XShelter Insulated β Rain-Guard Moc, a new shoe designed to combine insulation with ease of wear. A cover over the instep helps keep rain and snow out.
The shoe uses aerogel material in its insulating sheet to make it harder for outdoor cold to reach the foot. The inside is lined with fabric made from graphene-blend yarn advertised as providing heat generation and heat retention, and the shoe has a step-in mechanism with a heel slider.
The cover is made from waterproof-treated fabric and is designed to protect the instep from rain and snow. The developer said the shoe was improved based on user feedback, using the idea of “putting a raincoat on a shoe.”
When tested indoors, the shoes kept the feet warm and could be put on while standing. Testing in rainy conditions also showed reduced sock wetting and slipping.
