Keiwa released its results for the six months ended June 2026. Revenue increased year on year, while operating profit declined due to higher costs. The company said it would expand its automotive-related products and process paper business in the second half, with a focus on overseas markets.
Keiwa (4251) provides high-value-added products centered on optical sheets for liquid crystal displays. For the six months ended June 2026, consolidated revenue was ¥10,537 million, up 6.3% year on year; operating profit was ¥1,898 million, down 15.5% rather than down 6.5%; ordinary profit was ¥2,021 million, up 3.1%; and interim net profit attributable to owners of the parent was ¥1,410 million, up 103.3%.
Against a backdrop of slowing demand for optical products used in notebook computers and higher costs, the company revised its full-year earnings forecast downward. Progress for the interim period was 50.5% for revenue, 66.8% for operating profit, 68.1% for ordinary profit, and 68.6% for net profit attributable to owners of the parent.
The outlook for the fiscal year ending December 2026 is revenue of ¥20,877 million, up 2.0% from the previous fiscal year; operating profit of ¥2,842 million, down 33.7%; ordinary profit of ¥2,968 million, down 30.0%; and net profit attributable to owners of the parent of ¥2,055 million, down 9.4%. Assuming slower demand in the notebook computer market, the company is expected to continue focusing on automotive products and process paper, with overseas markets as its main focus.
