Under Keiwa's medium-term plan, optical products will expand proposed applications with the new OPLAM product lineup, while functional products seek growth opportunities in medical and automotive films by leveraging clean manufacturing environments.
In its optical products business, Keiwa has introduced the new OPLAM product lineup and is seeking to improve performance and ensure safety by applying its sheet and film lamination technologies. In addition to targeting demand for automotive displays by addressing HUD heat-resistance issues and the shift toward larger screens, the company will expand its proposed applications by adding functions such as light-diffusing sheets. Although the market is being affected by the global slowdown in EVs, signs of recovery are emerging in Japan and Europe.
In its functional products business, Keiwa aims to expand demand by leveraging production in clean environments, focusing on Meditect process films for medical applications and ACE films for clean-energy vehicles. ACE has been adopted for Toyota's MIRAI fuel-cell vehicle, and the company is strengthening proposals for other vehicle models. In addition, Keiwa is pursuing exclusive domestic rights for A!Prog-UF process paper for urethane foam and expansion into emerging markets, with the aim of monetizing overseas operations from 2025 onward.
The medium-term plan as a whole sets out a policy of promoting global expansion by combining display-related products with medical and environmentally oriented products, while targeting growth opportunities in emerging markets such as Asia, North America and Australia.
