Panasonic Holdings estimates consolidated net profit for the fiscal year ending March 2027 at ¥540 billion, forecasting a 2.8-fold increase from the previous fiscal year. The annual dividend is expected to reach a record ¥70.
Panasonic HD announced that consolidated net profit for the fiscal year ending March 2027 is expected to reach ¥540 billion, or 2.8 times the previous fiscal year. This is ¥90 billion above its previous forecast, while revenue is expected to reach ¥8.4 trillion. Growth in substrate materials for AI servers and other products is expected to boost performance. The company expects this to offset the impact of selling its housing-equipment subsidiary to YKK and removing it from the consolidated group in the fiscal year ending March 2026.
Operating profit is forecast to triple to ¥710 billion, ¥120 billion above the previous forecast, marking a new record high for the first time in 42 years. While recall costs for drum-type washing machines are expected to increase, structural reforms, including workforce reductions in Japan and overseas, are expected to take effect. The president said at an online press conference that a new target for adjusted operating profit is scheduled to be announced in May next year.
Panasonic Industry will invest ¥92 billion in electronic components for AI applications and increase production of substrate materials for AI servers. Following construction of a new building at its Ayutthaya plant in Thailand, the company will invest an additional approximately ¥37 billion to construct another building, targeting operations in April 2029. Demand for capacitors used as large power-supply components is expanding, and the company is also investing in plants in Kyoto Prefecture and Batam Island, Indonesia.
