Following their first-quarter results, reuse-store operator Treasure Factory and domestic IT major NEC have both raised their full-year forecasts earlier than expected.
First-quarter results are now available for companies with February and March year-ends, and revisions to earnings forecasts are emerging. Treasure Factory, which operates a reuse business, first reported strong results, with first-quarter sales up 16% and operating profit up 24%. It subsequently raised its full-year earnings and dividend forecasts.
Next, major IT services provider NEC got off to a strong start, with first-quarter sales up 15% and operating profit up 66%, and revised its full-year sales plan upward. Growing demand related to digital IDs and the tailwind from the weaker yen are also supporting the company's growth.
This feature introduces both companies as stocks that announced upward revisions early in the current fiscal year, and summarizes the key points of their results and outlook.
The full version also includes analysis from a feature article in the October issue of Diamond Zai.
