Google unveiled the new Pixel 11 smartphone lineup and opened its first company-operated store outside the United States in Omotesando. Its Japan-focused pricing strategy includes measures such as extending the trade-in campaign through November.
Alongside announcing the new Pixel 11 smartphone series, Google introduced a product lineup including the Pixel Watch 5 and the Pixel Tag lost-item tracker. Four Pixel 11-series models, the Pixel Watch 5 and the Pixel Tag are being launched, with each product scheduled to go on sale from 20 August.
While the exterior changes are limited, the Pro models feature the HiLight rear LED and a thinner camera bar, while the Pixel 11 Pro Fold has been made thinner and lighter, bringing improvements to functionality and durability.
As part of its focus on the Japanese market, Google will open Google Store Omotesando, its first company-operated store outside the United States, on 13 August. The first floor will display and sell Pixel and Pixel Watch products, the basement will offer repairs and customer consultations, and the top floor will provide a hands-on Gemini experience. Japan-exclusive merchandise will also be available.
The pricing strategy includes Japan-specific adjustments, such as eliminating the 128GB configuration for the Pixel 11 and offering only the 256GB model at ¥136,800, while the Pixel 11 Pro 256GB is priced at ¥174,800. The trade-in campaign runs through 4 September, with continued efforts to reduce customers' out-of-pocket costs, primarily through discounts on older devices.
The timing for Gemini Intelligence's availability has not been determined. The service will first launch in US English environments, with Japanese support to be added in a later update. The timing and setup process for the feature have not yet been clearly specified.
