Wecrin has signed an MOU with NSITDEA in Niger State to establish a framework for dispatching STEM talent to Japanese companies and placing them in jobs. Going forward, it will promote the discovery and development of prospective talent in the state and matching them with companies.
Wecrin, which handles global talent recruitment and overseas expansion, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Niger State Information Technology and Digital Economy Agency (NSITDEA) in Nigeria concerning the development of STEM talent and overseas remote employment. The purpose of the MOU is to establish a framework under which Wecrin selects and develops science and engineering talent recommended by the state and connects them with companies in Japan and other markets.
Under the MOU, NSITDEA will identify and recommend prospective talent from universities and training institutions in the state, while Wecrin will conduct skills assessments, provide company-specific on-the-job training and arrange suitable matches. The two parties said they aim to establish a sustainable talent supply base.
Three engagement models are envisaged, all premised on remote employment: cross-border remote work handling back-office operations and data analysis, roles as core members of local teams in Africa, and direct hiring and employment in Japan. The parties also referred to embassies and initiatives on the Japanese side, and Wecrin indicated that it plans to recruit participating companies going forward.
