Wecrin has signed an MOU with the Niger State Information Technology and Digital Economy Agency (NSITDEA) to develop STEM talent in Niger State, Nigeria, and facilitate employment with Japanese companies. Wecrin will train and match promising candidates from across the state.
In 2026, Wecrin signed an MOU with the Niger State Information Technology and Digital Economy Agency (NSITDEA) of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to establish a system for developing and matching STEM talent, including for employment overseas. NSITDEA will identify and recommend candidates from universities and training institutions in the state, while Wecrin will assess their capabilities, provide on-the-job training and connect them with companies in Japan and other countries.
Against the background of this initiative, Wecrin has sought to strengthen its talent supply base as it supports the development and recruitment of highly skilled foreign talent and overseas expansion. NSITDEA, meanwhile, has worked to develop digital talent and expand employment pathways. By combining their respective strengths, the two parties aim to create a system for continuously identifying talent and building partnerships with companies.
The MOU combines talent and resources within the state with Wecrin’s capabilities in assessment, on-the-job training and corporate matching. NSITDEA will convene, recommend and provide candidates, while Wecrin will assess their capabilities, provide on-the-job training and establish a system to connect them with suitable employment opportunities at companies in Japan and other countries.
For Japanese companies, the initiative is significant in that it enables them to engage talent through three models: cross-border remote work, the use of teams based in Africa, and direct hiring in Japan.
