FP CORPORATION announced that it had been selected for the newly established Plastic Recycling Contribution Award at the 52nd Resource Recycling Technology and Systems Awards for FY2026. The award recognizes initiatives that promote resource recycling and encourage the transition to a circular economy, and FP CORPORATION was recognized for its long-standing efforts. The company’s reasons for receiving the award are presented alongside images. The article focuses primarily on the award and the points that were recognized.
Since 1990, FP CORPORATION has operated its own recycling system involving four parties: consumers, supermarkets, packaging-material wholesalers and the company itself. Used food trays, clear containers and PET bottles are recycled into new food trays and clear containers. This circular business model uses advanced sorting, washing and recycling processes to ensure safety when the material is used as a raw material for food containers. It also contributes to the assessment of reductions in crude oil consumption and waste, as well as CO2 emissions.
Following the award, FP CORPORATION announced that it will continue promoting resource recycling, targeting a 31% reduction in CO2 emissions (Scope 1 and 2) by the fiscal year ending March 2031 and net zero by FY2050. This will further strengthen its position as a model case for packaging recycling.
