Hitachi Systems and HPE are strengthening their collaboration and have developed a containerized data center model using GPU servers. They announced plans to shorten the implementation period to as little as 6 months and reduce the burden of upfront costs through financial services.
Hitachi Systems announced that it will strengthen its collaboration with Hewlett Packard Japan, G.K. (HPE) on its containerized data center business to address demand for AI utilization. The companies aim to shorten implementation periods and reduce the financial burden by combining expertise in design, construction, operations and maintenance with consulting on the use of GPU servers and financial services.
The new model aims to shorten the implementation period from approximately 12 months to as little as 6 months. Hitachi Systems and HPEFS will collaborate on financing options that reduce the need for a lump-sum investment in the equipment being deployed and ease the burden of upfront costs, including residual-value leases and payment deferral programs. A single point of contact covering design and construction through operations and maintenance is another feature of the model.
Going forward, the companies plan to support the use of AI in each region, with a view to enhancing predictive failure detection and preventive maintenance for data center-related equipment and expanding nationwide by leveraging the portability of the facilities.
