The event was intended to encourage interest in STEM fields and provide an opportunity to explore career possibilities.
As part of its CSR activities, KI-STAR REAL ESTATE CO.,LTD participated in the "Girls Meet STEM Corporate Tour" organised by the Yamada Shintaro D&I Foundation and held experiential events for female junior and senior high school students at its Tokyo head office and Osaka branch office. The events were intended to deepen participants' understanding of STEM fields and give them a closer look at the housing and construction industries.
The day's activities centred on an office tour, a housing design experience, a manufacturing experience and a talk session with female employees. Participants experienced a working environment, learned how to think about floor plans by solving design puzzles, and gained exposure to on-site skills through screw-driving and wallpaper-installation activities. Hearing about the experiences of female employees also gave them an opportunity to envisage their future careers.
The initiative is being undertaken against a backdrop of a shortage of personnel in STEM fields and the need to expand employment opportunities for women. KEIAI said it is working to create an environment where diverse talent can thrive, including by obtaining Platinum Kurumin and Eruboshi certifications.
The company outlined a policy of developing an environment where diverse talent can demonstrate their individuality and addressing social issues. It is expected to continue efforts through Girls Meet STEM to broaden the range of career choices available to junior and senior high school students.
