To mark Bean Day on 13 October, the Showa-era sound logo “♪Fujicco no Omame-san♪” was revived for the brand’s 50th anniversary. “Omame Samba” was unveiled for the first time as a Reiwa-era dance, alongside an open class and a food education event.
On 13 October, FUJICCO CO., LTD. revived the Omamesan sound logo to mark the brand’s 50th anniversary as part of its Bean Day event, while holding an open class and a dance event. The program also included a class using the supplementary teaching material “Itadakimasu Reader.”
The event featured choreographer akane and a surprise appearance by Avantgardey, a dance unit that has attracted global attention. Together with approximately 70 children, they gave the first performance of “Omame Samba,” a dance incorporating the sound trademark.
In the lecture segment, President Fukui Shoichi (福井 正一) explained the importance of Japanese cuisine and bean culture. The first part of the program featured an open class using “Itadakimasu Reader.” In the second part, participants performed “Omame Samba” and played a bean-grabbing game, creating an opportunity to learn the proper way to hold chopsticks and Japanese dining etiquette in an enjoyable setting.
Because the supplementary teaching material has already been adopted by more than 150 schools nationwide, a nationwide free giveaway campaign will be launched. The campaign is open to school personnel and individuals, with applications accepted through the end of November.
