Cloudera and EpicAI have launched a strategic collaboration to accelerate enterprise AI deployment in Japan. The collaboration will establish a framework providing end-to-end support, from issue analysis and AI use-case design and implementation through PoC and production deployment.
Cloudera Japan and EpicAI, a startup originating from the Matsuo Institute, announced that they would launch a strategic collaboration to accelerate the use of AI in business operations at Japanese companies. The two companies will combine EpicAI’s frontline expertise with Cloudera’s data/AI platform to establish a framework providing end-to-end support, from issue analysis, design and implementation through proof of concept (PoC) and production deployment.
The central aim of the collaboration is to promote Applied AI, moving beyond the trial stage and embedding AI in day-to-day operations to generate ongoing value. Based on secure data access and governance spanning cloud and on-premises environments, the companies will work with customers across the lifecycle, from identifying and prioritizing business use cases through model selection, data preparation, PoC execution and deployment.
Technically, the companies will integrate EpicAI’s business-focused AI solutions with Cloudera’s hybrid data/AI platform, providing an environment in which customers can use their own data to develop and deploy AI solutions. They aim to build production operating models that provide governance and scalability beyond initial validation.
The two companies will also collaborate on go-to-market activities, including joint proposals, seminars and events for senior executives, to help Japanese companies turn data and AI investment into concrete results. EpicAI CEO Yokoyama Keiichi (横山 敬一) and Cloudera’s Yamagā Yūji (山賀 裕二) each emphasized the importance of applying AI in practice and operating it in production.
