Shimadzu Corporation announced on the 6th that consolidated net income for the fiscal year ending March 2027 is expected to rise 1% year on year to ¥61.0 billion. It raised its previous forecasts for revenue to ¥630.0 billion and operating profit to ¥84.0 billion, citing expectations that demand for components incorporated into semiconductor manufacturing equipment will remain solid.
Sales of components such as turbomolecular pumps have been a factor behind the strong performance in the semiconductor-related business. The aircraft equipment business is also expected to perform well, supported by rising defense demand.
The annual dividend is expected to be ¥72, up from ¥69 for the previous fiscal year. At an earnings briefing, President Yamamoto Yasunori (山本靖則) said that demand for AI applications would not decline even if investment in data centers is expected to be restrained.
The consolidated results for the six months ended September 2026, announced the same day, showed revenue of ¥281.9 billion, up 10% year on year, and net income of ¥28.2 billion, up 20%. Outside the semiconductor-related business, sales of equipment for measuring liquid components increased in North America and China in the core measuring instruments business.
