Semiconductor stocks surged against a backdrop of lower interest rates, and the Nikkei Average rose for a third consecutive day. Kasumigaseki Capital raised its earnings forecast.
The Nikkei Stock Average rose sharply for a third consecutive day, supported by a rebound in U.S. markets and lower long-term interest rates. The market’s advance was also supported by the fact that expectations for a rate hike did not become excessive following the Bank of Japan’s monetary policy meeting.
Technology stocks, including AI-related stocks, attracted buying, with semiconductor stocks such as Advantest posting particularly strong gains. The rise in the SOX Index has also been reported amid developments in the U.S., including Nvidia.
Kasumigaseki Capital raised its earnings forecast for the fiscal year ending August 2026, increasing its operating profit forecast from ¥26.5 billion to ¥27.6 billion. The revision was attributed to the steady progress of development projects and the acceleration of asset sales.
As for today’s market developments, the view has been expressed that lower long-term interest rates and the Bank of Japan’s policy management lifted the market as a whole.
