KADOYA SESAME MILLS INCORPORATED, a long-established producer, has launched ISOLETTA, a sesame oil designed for Western cuisine. It is said to offer a light, nutty flavor and finish through low-temperature roasting.
KADOYA SESAME MILLS INCORPORATED, Japan's leading sesame oil producer by domestic market share, announced ISOLETTA, a new sesame oil scheduled for launch on 1 September 2026. It is positioned as a sesame oil to be enjoyed drizzled over Western cuisine.
The company has a history of changing Japanese dining tables through small bottles of sesame oil for home use. With this new product, it says it aims to innovate by highlighting its compatibility with Western cuisine. Its flavor development is said to be characterized by the skills and reliability of its artisans.
As for the actual flavor, it has been described as less assertive than ordinary sesame oil because the sesame is roasted at a low temperature by artisans, with a light finish that spreads across the palate. Actress An (杏), who appeared in the commercial, is also introduced as having been surprised by the nutty character of the sesame.
Suggested uses include pasta and salads, as well as drizzling it over vanilla ice cream to add richness, indicating its compatibility with a wide range of dishes. The company is described as taking on unexplored areas against the backdrop of its 168-year history.
