Snowflake World Tour Tokyo 2026 highlighted the shift of the main battleground in the AI agent era toward AI-Ready data, identifying the integration of data platforms and business knowledge as a key source of competitiveness. The event emphasized four pillars, data contextualization, governance and application integration, and also presented practical examples from Japanese companies.
Against the backdrop of the widespread adoption of generative AI, companies are shifting their focus from simply using AI to turning it into results. Snowflake World Tour Tokyo 2026 positioned data platforms and contextual understanding as prerequisites for the practical application of AI agents. The keynote presented four pillars for using AI agents after standardizing the meaning and definitions of corporate data, and introduced such capabilities as Horizon Catalog, Horizon Context, Cortex Sense and Trust Center.
The second pillar addressed AI model selection and governance, outlining a policy of using Cortex AI Gateway to select models according to the intended use and optimize costs. Under the software and application integration pillar, the event emphasized that Zero-Copy Sharing and Snowflake Marketplace enable data and applications to be shared and used on the same platform. Agentic Control Plane was positioned as the platform for overseeing the management and execution of AI agents, with CoWork and CoCo introduced as implementation examples supporting it.
Practical examples from Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., FUJIFILM and Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Asset Management covered data democratization, data distribution based on trust, and Loop Engineering, an initiative to turn business knowledge into data assets. These examples showed specific measures being taken in the field to achieve AI-Ready data. SCSK’s presentation explained an approach combining the development of data models that AI can understand with the definition of business knowledge through Semantic View.
Finally, the event introduced SCSK’s first receipt of a Snowflake Partner Award and concluded that the use of AI agents is becoming a reality, while the integration of data, context, AI models and applications is advancing the Agentic Enterprise in real-world settings.
