Osaka Gas will change its electricity supply terms and conditions, among other matters, effective 1 November 2026, and review its rate schedules in response to changes in wheeling charges by general transmission and distribution utilities, including Kansai Transmission and Distribution. The changes will apply from the December 2026 meter-reading cycle, with details set out in Appendix 1.
Osaka Gas announced that it will change its electricity supply terms and conditions, among other matters, and review its rate schedules. The changes are being made in line with moves by general transmission and distribution utilities to change their wheeling charges.
The changes take effect on 1 November 2026, and the revised rate schedules are scheduled to apply from the December 2026 meter-reading cycle. Appendix 1 sets out the specific details of the changes.
Appendix 1 presents the revised rate schedules for Base Plans A–G and indicative impact amounts based on standard usage of 260 kWh per month. These amounts include the equivalent of consumption tax and other taxes, fuel cost adjustments, and the renewable energy surcharge.
The document explains that wheeling charges are borne by all utilities as public costs associated with the maintenance and management of electricity infrastructure, and are included in electricity rates.
