萬世電機 announced that it had revised its full-year consolidated ordinary profit forecast upward from its previous forecast and expects profit to rise 13.1%, reaching a record high. It also disclosed that the first-half dividend would be ¥70.
萬世電機 reported consolidated ordinary profit of ¥1.02 billion for the cumulative second quarter, covering April through September, up 38.8% year on year. This exceeded the level anticipated in the initial full-year forecast and came in above the previous forecast of ¥800 million. Revenue progressed in line with the results for each period, while growth in first-half results supported the expansion in profit.
The full-year ordinary profit forecast has been revised upward from the previous forecast of ¥1.6 billion to ¥1.82 billion. Profit is expected to increase 13.8% from the previous fiscal year, marking a second consecutive record high. However, based on the first-half results and full-year plan disclosed by the company, ordinary profit for the second half was calculated at ¥800 million, down 8.5% year on year.
Results for the July–September quarter were ¥620 million, up 59.4% year on year, while the operating profit margin on revenue improved from 5.6% to 6.4%. This has become a factor underpinning expectations for a contribution to profit in the second half.
The first-half dividend has been set at ¥70. The earnings report indicated that additional information may be disclosed depending on future progress and market conditions, but the information released at present is as stated above.
