明電舎 raised its ordinary profit outlook for the current fiscal year by 4% and expects a record profit exceeding its previous forecast. Results for April-September expanded sharply year on year, and the second-half earnings outlook was also raised following first-half profit improvement.
明電舎 announced its earnings on 30 October. Consolidated ordinary profit for the cumulative second quarter (April-September) of the fiscal year ending March 2027 was ¥9.95 billion, 3.1 times the year-earlier level. The result exceeded the previous forecast of ¥8.5 billion.
The full-year ordinary profit forecast was also raised 4.5% from ¥33.5 billion to ¥35.0 billion, with the growth rate expanding from 20.1% to 25.5%. This further raises the forecast for a record profit for the fourth consecutive fiscal year.
Based on first-half results and the full-year plan, consolidated ordinary profit in the second half was estimated at ¥25.0 billion, up 1.3% year on year. In the latest three months, ordinary profit for July-September rose 73.2% year on year to ¥4.5 billion, while the operating margin on revenue improved from 3.4% to 6.3%.
