Hon Hai Group and Sharp are jointly entering Japan's enterprise AI server market. The companies will initially launch commercial servers equipped with NVIDIA GPUs, targeting revenue of ¥250 billion in fiscal 2030.
Sharp, a subsidiary of Hon Hai Group, announced that it will jointly enter Japan's enterprise AI server market. Sharp will sell commercial servers equipped with NVIDIA GPUs under its own brand as "NVIDIA RTX Pro." Initial production will be carried out overseas by Hon Hai Group, with production in Japan also under consideration in the future.
For large-scale training and inference servers using NVIDIA HGX systems, order intake is scheduled to begin in fiscal 2027.
In response to current challenges in the Japanese market, including tight component supplies and delivery delays, Sharp and Hon Hai will establish a system to match demand with supply by leveraging Hon Hai's supply-chain resources.
Sharp estimates that Japan's domestic AI server market will be worth ¥4 trillion in fiscal 2030, of which it is targeting ¥250 billion in revenue. The overall market is expected to reach ¥5 trillion to ¥6 trillion by 2030, and Sharp aims to capture a 4% to 5% share.
