Salesforce is reportedly acquiring military logistics AI startup Rune Technologies for $375 million. It plans to integrate TyrOS for frontline use and strengthen the supply network from the Pentagon to the trenches, centered on Missionforce.
Salesforce is reportedly understood to have formally agreed to acquire Rune Technologies for $375 million, although the purchase price has not been disclosed in an official announcement. Based on reports by defense technology media, the total consideration is said to be $375 million. Rune’s total funding is said to have been approximately $30 million, while its valuation before the acquisition was approximately $134 million.
Rune Technologies’ core product, TyrOS, provides AI-powered predictive supply forecasting and transport route optimization in tactical-edge environments. It features offline operation that runs on local devices and automatically synchronizes data even when communications are disrupted. The aim is to improve information sharing between frontline units and rear bases.
In summer 2026, Rune won a software contract worth approximately $99 million from the US Army, and its technology is said to have been combat-validated. The acquisition is expected to accelerate the development of an end-to-end military logistics platform linking Pentagon management systems with frontline units, centered on Salesforce’s defense division, Missionforce.
The transaction is reportedly expected to close in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2027. Reports say that integrating the supply network using Rune’s technology will advance connectivity from the Pentagon to the front lines.
