GAME FREAK made its first-ever appearance at Tokyo Game Show 2026 and unveiled a booth for its all-new smartphone game “Rain, Then Sunshine Girl.” The free-to-play title changes based on real-world weather forecasts, supports iOS and Android, and is scheduled for release in winter 2026.
The game’s world is built around the weather, with the magical girl “Hare Onna” and the divine messenger “Kumorin” serving as its protagonists. Omori Shigeru (大森 滋) is the director and producer, while クロノゲート is participating as a development partner. The booth’s laundry-themed exhibits drew attention with a life-size recreation of a truck and staging showing costumes being hung out to dry.
On-site collaboration initiatives included a tie-in with the Rurubu travel guidebook and the distribution of Lion laundry detergent samples. A tie-in exhibit with AQUA was also presented in the clubroom area, where specially configured washing machines and other products were displayed.
