The Nikkei Stock Average was down about ¥530 from the previous day in afternoon trading, moving around ¥64,390. In foreign exchange, dollar-yen was around the mid-¥158 range, with the yen stronger than during the morning session.
The stocks among the Nikkei's largest negative contributors were SoftBank Group, Fujikura and Kyocera. Meanwhile, Advantest, Fast Retailing and Terumo were among the largest positive contributors.
Afternoon trading was subdued. Trading volume on the TSE Prime Market was approximately 978.9 million shares, while trading value was approximately ¥3.383 trillion.
