Saga Bank began accepting advance applications to open accounts on 1 October ahead of Children's NISA, which starts in January 2027. Under the new scheme, minors can invest up to ¥600,000 per year and ¥6 million in total, supporting early asset building.
Ahead of the launch of the new scheme, Saga Bank will accept advance applications to open investment trust accounts so that Children's NISA can be used from January next year. Applications will be accepted at all branches except the Tokyo Branch, including the submission of required documents.
Under Children's NISA, the regular investment allocation will also become available to minors, allowing investments of up to ¥600,000 per year and ¥6 million in total. Investment gains will be tax-free indefinitely.
The bank also plans to hold seminars to deepen understanding of the Children's NISA scheme and campaigns for users, with the aim of encouraging early account openings.
