Hiroshima Bank has announced a case study on implementing an inclusive platform using Seven Bank,Ltd. ATMs. The initiative enables account opening, address changes and support for foreign nationals through procedures and identity verification at ATM counters.
The initiative aims to advance digitalisation as a regional financial institution while using Seven Bank,Ltd. ATMs as familiar infrastructure to enable a range of procedures without requiring customers to visit a branch. The implementation is centred on “+Connect (Plus Connect)” and seeks to reduce counter workload while improving convenience.
The user interface and user experience are being designed to complete account opening in as little as 5 minutes and address changes in 3 minutes. The ability to complete procedures on weekday evenings and holidays was also emphasised. Operational challenges, including anti-money laundering compliance, were addressed, and guidance on completing procedures at nearby Seven Bank,Ltd. ATMs was considered effective.
Initiatives to expand identity verification and the range of procedures, including support in English, were introduced to address diverse needs, including those of foreign nationals. The expansion of ATMs’ role as a touchpoint connecting digital and physical services was positively assessed.
Seven Bank,Ltd. and Hiroshima Bank stated that they will continue working under the concept of an inclusive platform to link branch transformation with channel strategy and create new services that support the regional economy.
