Arc'teryx has announced System 0, a new circular design framework, and its first hard shell, the Sperro SV Jacket. Going on sale from 11 September 2026, it features ECONYL recycled nylon, disassembly technology, and a design built around repair and collection.
Outdoor brand Arc'teryx has announced System 0, a new circular design framework. System 0 incorporates circularity throughout the product lifecycle, from design through collection and recycling, with the aim of extending product life.
The Sperro SV Jacket was announced as the first product under System 0. Developed as a mountaineering hard shell for multisport use, it features GORE-TEX PRO and an ePE membrane to provide durability, waterproofing and breathability.
Its key feature is that it can be disassembled and recycled. The outer and lining fabrics use ECONYL recycled nylon yarn, while the zippers feature sliders designed for easy replacement. If the product can no longer be repaired, the design incorporates a process for separating and recycling the nylon from the GORE-TEX membrane.
The product is certified under TESTEX Circularity and is priced at ¥198,000, including tax. The men's version weighs 506g and is available in 3 colours, while the women's version weighs 450g and is available in 2 colours. It goes on sale on 11 September 2026.
