Aisin will explain its software strategy for addressing the diversity of in-vehicle E/E architectures in the SDV era at a specialist event held as part of EdgeTech+ 2026. The presentation will also cover foundational technologies for standardization, as well as challenges involving software updates and security.
Aisin will deliver a keynote at the Automotive Software Expo within EdgeTech+ 2026, explaining the responses and challenges involved in developing in-vehicle software in the SDV era. The presentation will be held on 19 November under the theme “Aisin's Response to the Evolution of E/E Architectures and the Next Challenges in Software Development.” The speaker will be Nakane Mitsunori (中根光徳), and the session will run from 16:05 to 16:50.
As SDVs become more widespread, in-vehicle E/E architectures may shift from conventional ECU configurations to control through integrated ECUs and central computers. However, the timing and structure of this transition will differ by manufacturer, vehicle class and region, and multiple architectures are expected to coexist over the long term.
The Aisin Group is working on in-vehicle platform technologies that promote the standardization and reuse of software while supporting different hardware and communications environments. Through the development of in-vehicle networks such as CAN, Ethernet and LIN, as well as OS and middleware support, OTA and security technologies, the group is building a foundation that can maintain quality even when configurations change.
The presentation will also cover development structures for operating the SDV value-creation cycle in practice, highlighting the importance of repeatedly verifying, implementing and updating software on the premise of post-sale updates. Nakane (中根光徳) has worked for many years on in-vehicle embedded software development, primarily for transmission control ECUs, and currently promotes software platform development across multiple fields.
EdgeTech+ 2026 will be held from 18 to 20 November at Pacifico Yokohama. More than 300 exhibitors are expected, and admission will be free with online preregistration.
