Zenken has signed a partnership agreement to expand the placement of Indian talent among approximately 500,000 companies in the Resona Group’s customer base. It also plans to begin full-scale deployment of “ZenNxt Labs,” a service supporting Japanese companies in launching development labs.
On 1 November 2026, Zenken signed a business-matching agreement with Resona Research Institute to provide overseas talent placement and related services. Through the agreement, Zenken will provide full-scale placement of Indian engineers and support for launching development labs to the customer base of approximately 500,000 companies held by the Resona Group, primarily in the Tokyo metropolitan and Kansai regions.
Against a backdrop of Japan’s worsening shortage of IT talent, the use of overseas talent is accelerating amid expectations of a substantial long-term talent shortage as digitalisation and generative AI advance. Zenken has partnered with engineering universities, primarily in Bengaluru, India, and is building talent networks in specialised fields. From August 2026, it will also launch “ZenNxt Labs,” a service supporting the establishment of development labs staffed by highly skilled engineers.
The agreement consists of two main pillars. The first is a business placing students from Indian engineering universities with Japanese companies as new-graduate engineers. Zenken will provide comprehensive retention support, including Japanese-language education from the acceptance of a job offer through joining the company, lifestyle orientation and regular counselling. The second is support through “ZenNxt Labs” for launching development labs. Engineers in fields where it is difficult to secure talent in Japan, such as AI, data science and full-stack development, will be assembled locally in India to support Japanese companies in establishing global development capabilities.
Through the Resona Group’s extensive business-matching network, the partnership is intended to strongly support companies in securing talent and contribute to the expansion of its overseas talent business under the medium-term management plan. Going forward, Zenken will strengthen its role as a support partner for digital transformation and technological innovation by connecting India’s advanced technical capabilities with the needs of Japanese companies.
